Obama wins nobel peace prize. Why?
Hard to believe that a U.S. President can win a peace prize while engaged in two wars.
Can some one please inform me as to why Obama has gotten a Nobel Peace Prize when he has yet to do what he has gotten the prize for?

Yeah, I can answer that.

The US president has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize because the awarding committee felt it was the excercising of their mandate in its purest form. The Nobel Peace Prize exists with a clear mandate and raison d'etre which ultimately translates into a clearly defined and unwavering agenda; that is to promote world peace. The award is given to those who have had an effect on world peace but is not limited in scope to only those people who have had an historical effect. The fulfillment of this agenda is not only measured in tangible results, an individual that has a positive effect on world attitudes towards peace is clearly eligible to be considered. This has been true historically and has many times been presented with the same types of objections, thereby setting precedence.

The truth is that the US president inhereted two wars, he did not have anything at all to do with the beginnings of these conflicts and there is no denying that he has fostered a better brand of world dialogue universally. When hope is the only thing that the human race truly shares in terms of their attitudes towards world peace, anyone who fosters a greater degree of hope, deserves an award.
