1. Currencies: The first thing you will want to do once you get your new installation of GT5 up and running is to set the currencies and languages for your store in the admin panel. This is very easy to do; log in to your store's admin panel . . . Go to the left column and find "Localization" click on it, then find "Currencies" and then delete and set new currencies as needed for your online business. After setting a new currency click on the "update currencies" button and the currencies will auto set themselves for relative exchange rates.

2. Languages: The same goes for setting languages: Go to the left column and find "Localization" click on it, then find "Languages" . . . take the advice of an experienced online seller here, unless you or someone working for you, is fluent in another language simply set the language to your own mother tongue or the language of your clients. A multi-lingual store is a nice idea until you have to process your first order or answer product information inquiries in another language. Setting the language to the one you are using by deleting the others also removes the product listing WYSIWYG editors for those languages.

3. Store Name, Location, Business Hours Etc.: The next step is to input your store name, location etc. into "Configuration>My Store" . . . what is inputted here will display at the top of the Contact Us page. You can use simple HTML code in this field box for font sizes and layout etc.

4. oscThumbs: Now find the link for oscThumb in the left column of the admin panel and set the oscThumbs master switch to on. For the time being leave all other settings as they are, you can always come back and tweak the settings to suit your needs.

5. Store Information pages: In the left column of your online store near the bottom, you will find a list of store information pages which include: About Us, Shipping & Returns, Privacy Notice, Conditions of Use and Contact Us. The Contact Us page is edited in step 3 previously. The other info pages are mostly pre-filled with generic language and use a remote call variable to place your store name in the text but they will need some editing to be specific to your needs. To edit these pages; in the left column of the admin panel go to Tools>Define Languages . . . you will see these pages amongst a list of others that you can also edit. (be careful about editing code and always back up first)
